This classic German Expressionist silent film is a historically unique copy projected on a large screen in original speed!  Vivid, intense and fast-paced, this film tells the story of a cashier who wishes to spend his first (and last) unfettered and carefree day with a wealthy Italian woman. He embezzles 60,000 Marks and absconds to the big city to live the high life where he is torn apart by his obsessions.

Upon its release in 1920, German theater owners refused to screen the film and it was banned entirely in Japan!
